About Nutrition
The study of nutrition examines the science behind the connections between diet, health, and disease. Based on this scientific research, nutrition therapy can be used to provide accurate and reliable recommendations to each unique client.

As we all are well aware, there is an abundance of misleading nutrition and wellness information in circulation. Thus, there is the need to seek advice from those who are trained to provide sound nutrition counsel based on current scientific research.

By practicing healthy eating and lifestyle behaviors, we build a strong foundation for sustained health and wellness as we age. Further, when applied appropriately, a healthy diet can be one of the best tools available in preventative care.

Could you use Nutrition Counseling?
Chronic health problems such as obesity, sarcopenia, hypertension, fatigue, cancer, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease are prevalent in the US population today.

Even if you are not struggling with the above-mentioned problems, could you be living a higher-quality life with sustained energy and health? Chances are, yes. In addition to other holistic and traditional disciplines, nutritional and lifestyle intervention is essential.

By acting now, many illness and problems can be avoided later in life. Nutrition and lifestyle therapy is effective and vital in restoring nutrient deficiencies, managing or preventing medical problems, and maintaining optimum health.

About our Nutritional Counseling Providers

debraDebra Kuhn, L. Ac., Dipl. OM

Debra Kuhn, a licensed acupuncturist in Colorado and California, is also a nationally recognized Diplomate in Oriental Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine.

After graduating magna cum laude from New York University, Debra moved to San Diego to attend Pacific College of Oriental Medicine, one of the most prestigious acupuncture schools in the country, where she was trained in both Western and Eastern Medicine. This dual training, Debra feels, was essential to understanding both sides of her patient’s conditions and therefore truly providing integrative medicine.

During her time in San Diego, Debra was honored to be one of the first acupuncture interns to work in the Oncology/Hematology Department of a Children’s Hospital. Additionally, alongside her private practice, she had rotations with San Diego Hospice and UCSD’s free health clinic.

Debra focuses her practice in the treatment of internal medicine including (but not limited to) women’s health, auto-immune disorders, and pain management. Her practice consists of acupuncture, herbal and nutritional therapies and lifestyle counseling including stress reduction and breathing exercises. She is certified in Virginia Doran’s style of facial rejuvenation acupuncture and Clean Needle Technique. Additionally, Debra has worked together with several reproductive endocrinologists and is available to accompany fertility patients during their transfers.

In addition to private practice, Debra is a lecturer and author on various aspects of Chinese Medicine and is available for speaking engagements.
